Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Meeting and how it works.

How to create a meeting?
You can use Meeting Readme to write what attendees need to know or prepare for, as well as the purpose of the meeting. Meetings are a time-consuming communication, so we should prepare for them carefully and in detail. Meetings can only be scheduled to start 12 hours in advance to give participants enough time to digest the meeting information. After creating a meeting in the App, please email the meeting code to the participants. Participants must confirm their participation before the meeting starts. After that, all participants will join the meeting at the same time at the meeting start time.
How to confirm my attendance for the meeting?
We should enter the meeting code several hours in advance to confirm attendance, firstly to let the host know who will attend the meeting, and secondly to give ourselves enough time to read, understand, absorb and settle the content of the meeting. Then we can enter the meeting at the meeting start time.
Can I confirm my attendance at a meeting after the meeting starts?
No.
Can I join early?
You can join the meeting 1 hour in advance.
What happens if the meeting is in progress and exceeds the meeting end time?
The meeting can be extended by up to 1 hour.
Can I join the meeting after the end time?
No.
When can the minute taker update the minutes?
Usually after the meeting, but there is no strict time limit.
What is host?
The person who creates a meeting is the host. The host can set up co-hosts, broadcast audio, video or screen, sync screen for everyone, allow or prevent someone from speaking.
What is co-host?
The co-host can broadcast audio, video or screen, sync screen for everyone, allow or prevent someone from speaking.
What is speaker?
Speaker can broadcast audio and raise hand to the host.
What is Recurring Meeting?
You can create daily, weekly, and monthly recurring meetings. Recurring meetings will automatically create the next meeting after the host enters the meeting. When the next recurring meeting is created, the participants who attended the last meeting will be automatically added. However, the participants may need to refresh the list.
What is audience?
Audience can only listen to and watch the audio, video and screen broadcast by others, raise hand to the host.
How to adjust the display effect of large videos?
Clicking on the large video will switch between contain and cover modes.
What are the requirements for user equipment participating in the meeting?
The device must have audio and video acquisition capabilities, including support for accessing the local camera and microphone. Taking MacBook Air M1 8G as an example, it can generally pull up to ~6 1080P video streams from the upstream, each consuming ~5Mbps of bandwidth, and the total bandwidth consumption is ~30Mbps. However, meetings usually only need to enable video or screen sharing for a few necessary people. If only audio is enabled, it can generally pull up to ~60 audio channels, each consuming ~100Kbps of bandwidth, and the total bandwidth consumption is ~6Mbps. However, high-performance computers can usually pull more than a hundred audio channels normally. The client will also select videos of different qualities based on actual conditions.
How to estimate enterprise inbound bandwidth?
Take a meeting of 100 people as an example. 6 people start audio and video at the same time, and the others are just audiences. Each person audio and video consumes ~5Mbps, so the inbound bandwidth requires about 5Mpbs*6*100=~3Gbps. If more people start audio or more meetings are going on at the same time, more bandwidth will be needed.
If it is a self-hosted, how to estimate the server inbound and outbound bandwidth?
Take a meeting of 100 people as an example. 6 people start audio and video at the same time, and the others are just listeners. Each person audio and video consumes ~5Mbps, so the ingress bandwidth needs about 5Mbps*6=~30Mbps, and the egress bandwidth needs about 5Mpbs*6*100=~3Gbps. If more people start audio or more meetings are going on at the same time, more bandwidth will be needed.
Is there any region restriction for TxThinking Meeting?
TxThinking Meeting operates globally without geographical restrictions. Ensure low-latency video forwarding at worldwide, providing fast and efficient services to global users. Note: Mainland China is not included. If you are in Mainland China, you can use Shiliew to access. Self-hosted depends on the enterprise own network.

What is Instant Meeting?
An instant meeting is a meeting that does not need to be created in advance or confirmed. Everyone has their own personal meeting code. You only need to share the personal meeting code with others so that they can enter your personal meeting. Generally, we use instant meetings for scenarios with fewer people. Due to the lack of necessary meeting preparation, instant meetings are often inefficient. If you have to use instant meetings frequently, it means that your team collaboration process may need to be optimized.
